Portland is located in southeastern
Ionia County at the point were the Looking Glass River flows into
the Grand.
Portland is a progressive community
with a diverse economy, ranging from small businesses to several
manufacturing facilities, many of them auto-industry related. The
downtown area features an old-fashioned ntown
clock overlooking main Street and adjacent bridge, complete with
scenic walkway to the park on the
nother side of the river.
