The city of Mason is located ten miles
south of Lansing and East Lansing surrounded by an agricultural
setting that provides an attractive buffer from nearby urban areas.
Quiet neighborhoods, a historic downtown, rural charm, affordable
homes, a strong sense of community pride, a high-quality school
system and convenient access to the Lansing, Grand Rapids, Ann
Arbor, and Detroit metropolitan areas are a few of the attributes
that make Mason a great place to live
and work.
Mason has retained its
traditional look with a stately courthouse gracing the
public square, surrounded by well-preserved
turn-of-the-century buildings. Mason’s economy is
supported by its connection to the state capital, as
well as significant local business, including metal
fabrication, auto parts manufacturing, pharmaceutical
research and packaging products production.
Mason is home to the Ingham County fairgrounds, the
annual Mason Steam Show and a variety of antique
shops.
